Cœur de pirate (1989- ) - Canadian singer-songwriter

Born in Quebec, Canada, the Francophone musician Beatrice Martin released her first album under the stage name Cœur de pirate, or Pirate Heart, in 2008. After becoming popular in North America, her album went triple platinum in France, selling over 600,000 copies worldwide. In 2011, she formed the group Armistice with Jay Malinowski of Bedouin Soundclash. Her latest album, Blonde, was released in November 2011. She is expecting her first child at the end of summer 2012.
